The 3rd Annual Big Snow Blast was a great success! More than 500 Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Little Brothers, Little Sisters, their families and the general public filled the hill at Canada Olympic Park on Saturday, February 27.The evening was filled with fun, laughter and plenty of prizes!

AMP 90.3 kept the crowd hopping with playing today’s top 40 hits. The radio hosts also went on air to encourage people to come down to join us as we hit the slopes. Big Snow Blast participants were wowed by Calgary Flames Defenceman, Adam Pardy as he signed numerous autographs and talked with his fans.

There were plenty of smiling and exhausted faces towards the end of the night as the evening was brought to a close with a fabulous fireworks display. One Little Sister said “I had so much fun today! I didn’t know how to do a snow plow at first; my Dad had to help me stop. But I figured it out; I can do a snow plow now and stop all on my own! Thank you for letting us come.” Many of the young people who attended the 3rd Annual Big Snow Blast had never had the opportunity to ski or snowboard. The Canadian Progress Club Bow River provided free hill passes for the BBBS Bigs, Littles and their familes and many of the BBBS children and youth were able to take advantage of free ski and snowboard lessons that was also generously provided by the Bow River Club.

BBBS is truly grateful to the Canadian Progress Club Bow River and the event sponsors, Integrity Wealth Group, Sabina Insurance, Nosehill Dental, and Tuxedo Source for Sports for giving our young people a night they will never forget!
