Broadcast live from Bankers Hall for the entire day – from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Calgary’s premier sports radio station The FAN 960 dedicated Wednesday, September 9th to BBBS and mentorship. FAN 960 personalities Mike Richards, Doug Kirkwood, Boomer and Rob Kerr focused their shows on the power of mentorship, encouraging their listeners to become a BIG deal in the life of a young person by volunteering as a Big Brother mentor.
Calgary Stampeders Quarterback, Grey Cup MVP, and our champion Henry Burris, along with Stampeders Defensive Lineman and former Little Brother Mike Labinjo, 2010 Winter Olympics skeleton athletes Jeff Pain and Jon Montgomery,Andrew McBride of the Calgary Roughnecks, as well as some of our current Big and Little Brothers, and a few all grown-up Little Brothers too, were all on-air and on-site at Bankers Hall throughout the day talking about the impact mentorship has had in each of their lives.
The day was a tremendous success with more than 715 hits to our website and an incredible influx in volunteer inquiries and applications…with more still coming in!
We extend our most sincere thanks and gratitude to The FAN 960, Brookfield Properties, Bankers Hall and all of our on-air guests for their truly inspiring generosity and belief in mentorship.
