Recreation Mentoring is mentorship in motion! Adult volunteers are matched to children 6 to 18 years old, meeting 2-5 hours a week for a minimum of a year. At no cost to the participants, they spend quality one-to-one time having fun through sports and recreation activities at various YMCA Calgary locations or Canada Olympic Park at WinSport Canada.
Who are our Recreation Mentors?
- Kind, caring people from all walks of life who enjoy participating in sports and recreation activities
- Individuals who have 2-5 hours a week for one year
Who are the young people involved in Recreation Mentoring?
- Children and youth between the ages of six and 18
- Young people are often from diverse and single parent homes who are referred to us by their families or guardians.
