Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area is a volunteer-driven organization recognized for our mentoring programs for children and youth in schools and communities throughout Calgary. We match young people with caring volunteers in a variety of mentoring programs. We also provide training and ongoing professional support to foster the success of the mentoring relationships.

Mentoring opportunities are available to young people who would benefit from having a positive role model in their lives. We serve young people 6 to 18 years of age who are often from diverse and single parent homes who are referred to us by their teachers, families or guardians.

Mentorship Works!
Mentorship positively impacts the lives of children and youth by improving their self-esteem, relationships with others, value of education and hope for the future. We currently have young people and entire schools who are waiting for mentors.

Bigs in the Community

Our Big Brothers and Big Sisters spend quality one-to-one time with a young person ages 6 to 18 in the community. Together they spend time laughing, baking, shooting hoops, going to a movie and having fun! Make a BIG difference in the life of a young person today!

Bigs in Schools
Our Big Brothers and Big Sisters spend quality one-to-one time with a young person between the ages of 6 to 18 at a school that is convenient to their work or home. For one hour a week, during school hours Bigs and Littles spend time doing crafts, baking, playing games and talking. Make a BIG difference in the life of a young person at a school near you!
